Barrio Alegria is a community transformation organization located in Reading, Pennsylvania that utilizes the arts as a platform for community engagement and for the development of social and multicultural awareness. Barrio projects deal with social justice issues utilizing the arts as a vehicle to instigate personal transformation and community building. Barrio is intentional about making many of these programs free so their message is accessible to the community at large.

Staff

Daniel Egusquiza

Executive Director

Daniel Egusquiza, Barrio's Founder and Executive Director is the visionary of the organization. He believes that the heart has the key to the direction of Barrio and has been able to follow that vision with the help of Barrio members.

Arleny Pimentel

Chief Operating Officer

Arleny Pimentel supervises all Barrio operations. She makes sure  programs and departments effectively support Barrio's mission through strategic planning.

Valois Joubert

Art Program Coordinator

Valois is in charge of coordinating all Barrio art programs inside or outside our center. She does this by engaging neighbors in the design and creation of programs.

Jonathan Tinoco

Membership Outreach Coordinator

Jonathan is in charge of in house community programs, volunteer coordination and membership development.

Laura Cordero

Development Coordinator

Laura is finding ways of creating sustainability and leadership development for our staff and our programs.

Tony Veloz

South of Penn Liaison

Tony is the coordinator for the South of Penn and serves as a bridge between the SOP Taskforce, Barrio, and the community.
