Following a 2015 poetry contest organized by the Reading Public Library, Barrio learned that many of the poets who participated in the contest live in the South of Penn Area of Reading. In the summer of 2017, with the help of volunteers, we set out to paint the streets of Reading with lines from those poems. This is an ongoing project. Other project participants often dedicate time to create stencils for the next Poetry on the streets outing.
